ARKANSAS HOLOCAUST EDUCATION COMMITTEE
To study the Holocaust is to study an episode in the history of humanity that is deeply complete and emotional. It is imperative that our nation’s teachers develop a dialogue with students dealing with the issues and the historical perspective surround the Holocaust as well as similar concerns that arise from existing polarization within the world today. The Arkansas Holocaust Education Committee feel bigotry, discrimination, racism and prejudice can be partially mitigated through education, exposure to facts, concept issues and historical insights and that a particularly powerful way to do this is by teaching the Holocaust. Additionally, it is imperative to increase audience diversity to include not just students and teachers but a broader base to be educated on the Holocaust.
