Have you checked out our virtual gallery for the Disabled Women Make History (and Art) show this year? We are so proud to exhibit pieces by a variety of incredible disabled women and feminine-aligned artists on our website until June 20th. Check out the pieces and learn more about them on our website today at disabilityempowhernetwork.org/dwmha-2025-virtual Video description: a scrolling screenshot of the Disability EmpowHer Network virtual art show webpage featuring an array of art with names under each piece. In honor of Mother's Day a few weeks ago, we had the privilege of publishing this incredible blog on motherhood and self acceptance by Leah Howes. Read it today at blog.christopherreeve.org/en/motherhood-on-wheels Image description: a photo of Leah, a white woman using a wheelchair with her small daughter sitting on her lap. Next to the photo is text: Motherhood on Wheel "My daughter taught me to be proud of who I am, because if nothing else, I am her mom. Be proud of who you are. And be especially proud of being a mom on wheels." Leah Howes (fb)

We recognize that disabled girls have significantly lower high school graduation rates and higher unemployment rates than their nondisabled peers. We also know that girls and women with disabilities are less likely to have successful disabled women mentors.
