Backstory: At Classic Camp in 2023 + 2024, we got to feature the gals of Grand Exit leading one of their signature workshops, Dreaming of Your Dying, as part of our personal development programming. In some ways, it might seem weird to bring *death* into Campowerment’s life-enhancing agenda, but when you think further, it was really our missing piece: because our dying isn’t separate from our living; it’s an inevitable part of it, and if we’re going to spend all this time, effort and delicious creativity on how we live our life in a way that honors who we really are, then WTF are we thinking *not* taking a lil’ time to dream about our death?! Don’t we want that major life milestone (the doorway between our life and legacy) to honor who we really are, too? We dk about you but we’re absolutely SURE we want to live as US until our last breath. So, dreaming of our dying became a really freaking powerful exercise for the few dozen women at camp who felt the same. Sure, there were tears, but we can promise there was laughter in equal measure. There was surprise, too — the kind that comes when we give ourselves the opportunity to be outside the fishbowl of our own lives in the moment, and really see what’s inside, and how we feel about that.
