Fort Chadbourne Foundation
Our original mission statement in 1999 has been met. Fort Chadbourne was founded February 1, 1999, as a public non-profit charitable 501(c)3 organization was established to protect, preserve and present the historic site of Fort Chadbourne to the public. It is on the National Registry of Historic Places. Fort Chadbourne, a United States Military frontier outpost established in 1852 for the protection of settlers and travelers during the westward movement. The foundation will also preserve and maintain the ruins and remains located on the site making it available to the public for tours and inspections. We will also provide public educational materials containing historical information about Fort Chadbourne and the role it played in the settlement and development of West Central Texas.
