ZDR3 Zoological Disaster Response Rescue and Recovery Why does the zoological industry need a specialized disaster response organization. There are several excellent nonprofit and governmental disaster response organizations for domestic animals. As the only animal disaster response group specializing in nondomestic animals ZDR3 has become a resource for these groups when they discover a nondomestic animal or require related subject matter expertise. As an industryled effort ZDR3 provides support to zoos aquariums sanctuaries and other nondomestic animal businesses before during and after significant incidents.

Atlantic hurricane season lasts from June 1 - November 30. This year, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predicts above-normal hurricane activity in the Atlantic basin. Last year ZDR3 tackled hurricanes, wildfires, and animal placement missions, showcasing the strength and adaptability of our network.
