Environmental Genome Initiative
Our focus is to describe, model, and map the complete Genomic Web of Industrial Chemicals and Materials. This new "genome”— the essential building blocks of everything humans have created and engineered—is defined as the map of origin and development, in both time and place, of the approximately 100,000 chemicals and materials used commercially to build nearly every product in current use by our global society. This map directly addresses issues of public health and chronic disease, national security, and innovation in the chemical manufacturing sector. The Environmental Genome serves all citizens with a public health focus on chronic disease, national security, manufacturing corporations, and environmental research.
