The Republican club of SJC has scheduled a meeting on a topic that affects the community. On June 10, the San Jacinto county district attorney, Todd Dillon, will be present to discuss how his office is combatting child abuse as well as domestic abuse in our county. This will be followed by Tammy Farkas, who will share regarding SAAFE house services (providing assistance to abused and battered women). In addition, Josh Pauley, founder of Run Home First will outline his group’s efforts to help children overcome the effects of abuse and neglect. This group uses sports as a mechanism to make them feel safe. Run Home First out of Willis is the first such group in Texas. We are excited to announce the WINNERS, yes we had 2, of the All About Kids Expo - CASA Sketches to Sparkles Jewelry Contest! Drum roll please!…. 12 year old Breslyn Trevino was our 1st Place Winner. She created a beautiful dragonfly design for her mom complete with purple gems, her mom’s favorite color. Our 2nd place winner is 10 year old Madelei Marti! Both girl's designs stood out not only for their creativity but also for the story they told — a reminder that imagination knows no bounds! Both pieces are being crafted into stunning necklaces that Breslyn and Madelei and their families will be able to enjoy for many years to come.
