Last week there were 4 babies left behind at animal control. They were terribly emaciated, sick, scared , and some even suffering broken bones laying there . Our intake was closed due to funding and lack of open fosters. Despite the hard situation we are in , it doesn’t even come close to compare to what they were feeling and living. They don’t get to pretend it doesn’t exist .. they have to live it.. so do we . I begged and you guys said let’s fight like hell for them. We were able to rally the funds to rush them in for admission to identify the issues they are facing better. Fosters stepped forward.. they are safe with us. Last week the light was gone in their eyes. It was like a shell of a puppy left and just dim eyes.. yesterday we saw the light again. Our little girl figgy was so critical she’s been admitted this whole week. Her stomach was full of foreign material she tried to eat to stay alive and her bones were mangled. She needed surgery but her body was so weak… so it took stabilizing and then going forward with her surgery. She’s finally out of the hospital post amputation. Figgy girl is so resilient and despite surgery pain she’s got light back in her eyes and she’s thankful. Our next little guy who is critical is barely. He will require bilateral surgery to improve his quality of life. Barley deserves to walk his best and most comfortable. Unfortunately it’s believed his legs are this deformed due to his previous housing and living conditions. Humans failed him so deeply and we have to fix this for him the Best we can. His surgery is $4500 next week and we have to raise that . This week on this litters intake we have already spent $6900 . This was $6900 we already didn’t have but we rallied because they deserved every minute of begging. Today is five Friday and we need it to be our biggest yet. Our funds are on the floor.
