Colorado Youth Tennis Foundation
The Colorado Youth Tennis Foundation (CYTF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 1982. It serves as the fundraising arm of USTA Colorado and is dedicated to promoting the physical, emotional, and social development of youth through tennis.
Mission and Purpose
The foundation's primary mission is to provide financial assistance to youngsters and junior programs across Colorado, ensuring that children from diverse backgrounds have access to the sport of tennis. Tennis is used as a tool to teach important life skills such as responsibility, discipline, integrity, and self-confidence. By offering these opportunities, the CYTF aims to help young people become active, productive, and responsible citizens.
Programs and Grants
The CYTF offers individual player scholarships to youngsters in need, allowing them to participate in tennis programs. Additionally, it provides program grants to organizations aiming to develop local tennis initiatives. These grants, which typically range from $100 to $1,000, support grassroots programs and help extend tennis opportunities to underrepresented communities throughout Colorado.
Service Areas
While the organization is based in Denver, Colorado, its services extend across the state, including both rural towns and metropolitan areas. This ensures that children from different socio-economic backgrounds are able to benefit from the sport.
Classification
The CYTF is classified as a small organization within the youth development sector. It is registered with the U.S. Federal Tax Identification Number (EIN) 84-0877046. As a 501(c)(3) organization, it relies on donations and support from the community to continue providing these essential opportunities.
