Serving the most severely abused children in Dallas County and providing national leadership on child abuse issues. The mission of Dallas Children's Advocacy Center (DCAC) is to improve the lives of abused children in Dallas County and to provide national leadership on child abuse issues. DCAC serves children who have experienced abuse that rises to the criminal level. Children and their eligible family members receive forensic services, wraparound support services, and mental health counseling. All DCAC programs are free to all clients. DCAC also brings together the public entities that work on these cases (law enforcement, protective services, county prosecutors, and medical professionals) to coordinate their work for effective results. This multidisciplinary team takes a child-focused and trauma-informed approach toward its life-changing work.
