During this period, the Community Development Citizens’ Committee (CDCC) identified significant challenges facing neighborhood business districts, leading to city funding allocations for the Stockbridge area. In 1979, a committee was formed to utilize these funds effectively, marking the genesis of organized business development initiatives in the region. Over the years, the association has evolved through collaborative efforts with various community groups, such as the John Ball Park Neighborhood Association and the West Central Business Association.
