Today, the House of Representatives decided to starve our country. They voted to cut nearly $1 trillion worth of funding for critical life-saving programs including health care, food assistance, education, childcare, veteran benefits and more - to pay for tax breaks for wealthy billionaires who are deeply invested in the failure of our country. This bill will also add $3.8 trillion to the nation’s overall debt. Oppression is the mask of fear. It is going to take all of us - teachers, farmworkers, students, park rangers, musicians, food vendors, entrepreneurs, organizers, skaters, snowboarders, artists, and more - to rip that mask off. Because We Are California - when you come for one of us, you come for all us. And we will keep fighting for a California where no child goes hungry, every person can get the healthcare they need and our democracy works for working people who fuel our communities and economy. #SquabbleUp for Liberation @ieblackworkercenter Last week the Inland Empire Black Worker Center team gathered at Corona City Hall for a day of action, addressing and sending letters to U.S. Representative Ken Calvert (41st District) in response to his vote in favor of Trump’s billionaire budget. This budget includes cuts to Medicare , SNAP benefits, and education, impacting countless families across the Inland Empire. This day of action was significant because it represented the Inland Empire Black Worker Center’s commitment to advocating for economic and social justice in the community. By gathering at Corona City Hall to address U.S. Representative Ken Calvert’s vote in favor of Trump’s billionaire budget, the IEBWC team took a stand against policies that would disproportionately harm working-class families in the Inland Empire. Cuts to Medicare and education threaten the well-being of countless residents, particularly Black and Brown communities who already face systemic barriers to healthcare access and quality education. By sending letters and making their voices heard, the IEBWC team emphasized the need for elected officials to prioritize the needs of their constituents over corporate and billionaire interests. This action not only held Representative Calvert accountable but also empowered local residents to engage in the democratic process and advocate for policies that support economic stability, education, and health equity for all. #dayofaction #medicareoverbillionares #iebwc #powertothepeople #blackworkers #advocacy (fb)
