We promised to randomly share images of some if our favorite local monument styles and many of yours as well. The beautiful mosaic tile memorials with each of our honoree's embedded porcelain image are very special and unique. Given our unrelenting climate It's simply stunning that Mr. Perez's 105 year old photograph is in such stellar condition !! ●☆●☆●☆●☆●☆●☆●☆● ●☆●☆●☆●☆●☆●☆●☆● Juan Pérez Lomban was born in San Emiliano, Pola de Allande, Asturias, Spain more than 171 years ago on January 18th, 1854 to his father, Juan Pérez and mother, María Lomban. He would eventually marry his wife, Josefa López with whom he would have a son, Luis, emigrate to America, and settle in the Sunshine State of Florida and city of Tampa. ⭐️⭐️All photographs taken by yours truly⭐️⭐️ (fb)

Good evening and welcome to our final spectacular monument restoration and sorrowfully short life journey to conclude the week. It's a beautiful old above ground tomb dedicated to a young bride who didn't live to see her 25th birthday. The now 94 year old porcelain image attacheed to it features this evening's honoree, Ramona Sanchez Ciccarello in her wedding gown. ⭐️⭐️ If you look very closely at this stone, you may notice something that appears out of place as did I. There's a second, seemingly unrelated piece to this story that we have yet to figure out. It's violent, tragic, and without context, nonsensical yet, true. You can read about this secondary tale at the conclusion of our primary story... ●● Just a reminder that we're trying to build our YouTube and TikTok channels. You can subscribe to them here ⤵️⤵️⤵️ https://youtube.com/@thegoodcemeterian?si=uNaTy4Oofv1mnC_- https://www.tiktok.com/@thegoodcemeterian?_t=8rtZHin9NRm&_r=1 ●☆●☆●☆●☆●☆●☆●☆● ●☆●☆●☆●☆●☆●☆●☆● Ramona Sanchez was born in Tampa, Florida more than 118 years ago on December 15th, 1906 to her father, Cuban born Louis Sanchez, and mother, Aurora Castro who hailed from Spain. She was the eldest of 4 children, a sister Luisa, and two brothers, Domingo and Antonio welcomed into the World by her parents. At the age of 18, Ramona married first generation Italian American Pietro "Peter" Ciccarello, a cigar maker in December of 1924. The couple never had children. With much sorrow, we regret to inform you that at just 24 years old, this evening's honoree would lose her life from the effects of chronic interstitial nephritis and myocarditis on March 13th, 1931. (Interstitial nephritis, also known as tubulointerstitial nephritis, is a kidney condition that causes inflammation and swelling in the spaces between the kidney tubules. This inflammation can impair the kidneys' ability to produce urine and filter blood. If left untreated, it can lead to kidney damage or failure.) Ramona Sanchez Ciccarello... Beloved wife, daughter, sister... Before & After ⭐️⭐️ Back to our confounding, monument mystery ⭐️⭐️ M.F. Quintana Fallecio December 28th, 1914. It was a Monday evening at about 8 p.m. just 3 days after Christmas in the year l914 when twenty eight year old Manuel Fernandez Quintana an employee of the Salvador Rodriguez cigar factory sat down in a local restaurant for a quiet dinner on Twelfth Avenue in Tampa's Ybor City. He'd been a loyal customer of the restaurant for the past six years and was friendly with the Castro family, the longtime owners of the well liked establishment. His waiter, on that fateful night was 24 year old, Francisco Castro. For unknown reasons, Mr. Fernandez Quintana and and his young server got into a heated, albeit petty dispute that culminated with Castro calling him "a sissy" which apparently enraged the tried and true patron. It was at this moment when Manuel Fernandez Quintana drew a revolver from.his person and fatally shot Castro, twice in the chest, and once in the back as the doomed young waiter collapsed. A moment later, Fernandez Quintana, who happens to be the second person memorialized on this evening's honoree's tomb, lifted the pistol, placed it against his temple, and pulled the trigger,, causing his instant death as fellow customers looked on in horror. ●● Points of interest ●● 1) The (m)urder / (s)uicide took place nearly 17 years before Ramona passed away. 2) Castro was this evening's honoree's mother's maiden name but we couldn't find a connection to the restaurant owners / victim. 3) We were unsuccessful at connecting the link to the (k)iller, Manuel Fernandez Quintana snd Ramona Sanchez Ciccarello other than like her mother, he also hailed from Spain. Why they're forever remembered together is a mystery. ●☆●☆●☆●☆●☆●☆●☆● ●☆●☆●☆●☆●☆●☆●☆● ** If you enjoy the content of our page remember to either "Like", "Comment", or "(S)hare" these posts or this page to increase the likelihood that they will continue to appear in your Facebook timeline. We hope you have a spectacular rest of your evening with those you hold closest and until we meet again. Be well TGC (fb)
