F&M Projects

F&M Projects seeks to advance education in art and architecture by exploring the visual and built environment and redefining departmental practices through language and placemaking.F&M Projects sees the greatest needs of the contemporary artist as having access to researchers and writers to communicate their work, and time and space to create. The nonprofit provides these resources through two primary programs: an extensive publication program, and a high caliber residency program—both open to artists of all disciplines, including but not limited to architects, craftspeople, designers, fabricators, fine artists, and makers of all kinds. The execution of F&M Projects' programs naturally explores the visual and built environment and redefines departmental practices through language, as researchers investigate artwork by artists of various practices for publication, and through placemaking, as the organization identifies spaces to bring together artists of various practices for residencies that foster collaboration and exchange. Outside of its primary programs, F&M Projects works to ensure that not only must the work of artists and architects be accessible through education, but the actual services of artists and architects should also be accessible.
