Elk Falls took a big hit during Hurricane Helene and is still closed to the public. However, the Forest Service has been working hard to get it back in shape. They’ve repaired the access road and will soon start removing the large items that were deposited in the river and along the banks. After that, Waterfall Keepers will roll in and begin removing all the smaller debris that covers the banks. Look for a call for volunteers later in the summer.
