Waterfall Keepers of North Carolina preserving protecting and promoting North Carolinas waterfalls North Carolina is home to some of the most breathtaking waterfalls in the nation. These waterfalls play a key role in the local ecology and culture and they provide us with peace wonder and even emotional and psychological healing. Unfortunately they are also a target for vandalism and littering. And they are a force of nature that can be dangerous so its important to treat them with respect and care.

🇺🇸 MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND 2025 IS UPON US. 🇺🇸 That means it's time for the wildly popular White Squirrel Festival in downtown Brevard -- and yes, Waterfall Keepers of NC will be there. There will be live music, food vendors, craft breweries, retail booths, and a who's who of non-profit organizations to learn about.

Elk Falls took a big hit during Hurricane Helene and is still closed to the public. However, the Forest Service has been working hard to get it back in shape. They’ve repaired the access road and will soon start removing the large items that were deposited in the river and along the banks.
