Ikizere Foundation
In 1994 the country of Rwanda experienced mass genocide, leaving millions of men, women and children refugees, people without a country, moving by foot into neighboring countries to live as refugees in camps. A foundation of Hope was greatly needed. Ikizere (Hope) is that Foundation. Ikizere Foundation serves to bring relief to refugees entering legally into the US with refugee status. We work daily as well to develop strategies that bring awareness and relief in Africa with others. Through the leadership of our Founder Jackie Nayigiziki and the leadership of our Ambassadors, we work with refugees who do not know English, to help them navigate through the American system of paperwork. In addition we gather clothing and other necessities to help smooth the entrance into a new life.
