Our non-profit organization's mission is to transition extremely low income families to greater self-sufficiency by assisting with housing & education. Founded in 1977, Orange County Community Housing Corporation (OCCHC) is committed to its mission "to transition extremely low-income families toward greater self-sufficiency through housing and education". For over 40 years, OCCHC has created and continues to own and manage over 300 affordable units, serving extremely low-income families serving over 2,000 Orange County parents and children annually through housing and education. We pursue this mission around the shared vision of a world in which each person has a sense of worth; accepts responsibility for self, family, community, and has the capacity to be productive, and to help create nurturing families and healthy communities.

This month, OCCHC’s Westward Home: A Gala to End the Cycle of Poverty raised over $260,000 — advancing affordable housing and education for underserved families throughout Orange County, The western-themed gala, presented by Title Sponsor, U. S. Bank, took place at The Ranch in Anaheim.

When Rafael was a young student, he would take the bus to the public library just to have a quiet place to do his homework. His family worked hard, but resources were limited, and college often felt like a dream out of reach. Then Rafael was introduced to OCCHC's SteppingUP Program.
