State-based affiliate of the NEH. Dedicated to serving Idaho citizens by promoting greater public awareness, appreciation, and understanding of the humanities We have ways of making you think... The Idaho Humanities Council's mission is to provide opportunities to "deepen understanding of human experience by connecting people with ideas." The Council has met its mission for fifty years by offering support to and partnering with museums, libraries, schools, civic groups, and other organizations statewide to help develop projects on the local level that explore history, literature, law, anthropology, art and music history, and other humanities disciplines. The vision of the Idaho Humanities Council is that the humanities inspire a more literate, tolerant and intellectually inquisitive Idaho citizenry, better able to embrace life's possibilities. IHC provides grants to other organizations as well as conducting its own programs.
