PACER: Post-Adoption Center for Education and Resources

PACER

PACER: Post-Adoption Center for Education and Research provides support, education, and advocacy for adoption triad members in Northern California. PACER was founded in 1978 to aid and give voice to the estimated 6 million Americans who are adopted, and their families by birth and adoption. We believe in honesty and openness in adoption, which is a lifelong, intergenerational experience, and in the civil and human right of adult adoptee to know their heritage. We offer peer support groups throughout Northern California, public and professional education, referrals, events, a quarterly newsletter and a website. PACER pursues personal empowerment, community awareness and social change by advocating for truth, sensitivity and fairness in adoption policy and practice.
