Segundo Barrio Children's Chorus enriches the lives of children & families through bi-lingual music education & performance opportunities which engage residents & celebrate the cultural identity of Houston's historic Second Ward/East End Community. Segundo Barrio Children’s Chorus (SBCC), Houston’s first bi-lingual children’s chorus, enriches the lives of children and families through tuition-free access to musical instruction, transformative Arts & Culture experiences, and community building performance opportunities. Programming is focused on children from immigrant and bilingual households ages 4-12. Appearances at community events throughout the East End District and Greater Houston foster pride in the historic and diverse community of Second Ward, while also providing much-needed mediums for creative expression. SBCC aims to increase representation and participation for Latino and immigrant families in Houston’s arts scene by celebrating the music, language and cultural traditions of our community for all Houstonians to enjoy.
