June 2025 Events at New Zone Gallery In addition to the eclectic mix of contemporary and traditional art created by the New Zone members the New Zone Gallery, located in our beautiful space at 110 East 11th, will be hosting three special exhibits during the month of June. JUSTIN PETROSSI- “After the Sun Sets” Capturing the light and hidden landscapes. In our busy lives, we don’t always have the time to stop and admire the beautiful and interesting things in our world. Photography is a way we can capture those moments, as well as, discover new moments hidden in slices of time, within the dark, and in unusual places in angles. As a new artist, Justin is still developing his style, improving his technique, and exploring different subjects and ideas. https://x.com/JustinPetrossi https://www.facebook.com/JustinPetrossi/ https://www.instagram.com/justinpetrossi/ JOHN MANCINI- “John R Mancini Artist Photographer” A retrospective of John Mancini’s paintings, drawings and photographs from the past 55 years As a young Artist all of John Mancini‘s work was done outdoors. He would refer to it as chasing light. In the Klausmeier Room James Mayner - “A Partial Retrospective” In the show, James Mayner’s art represents many years of experimentation with a variety of media and subject matter The oldest painting in the show was done in 1971, the most recent in 2025. In between our works, resulting from years of exploring landscapes, indigenous, living sites, rock, art, the deserts and mountains of the west. In these paintings, James Has used tinted waxes, varnish, photography, montage, line and color in various ways. For several years, he served as a site monitor for the US forest service in California and before coming to Eugene was lead prepper for tours at Pasadena‘s Norton Simon Museum for 28 years. All these experiences have strongly influenced his art and the various directions it has taken over the years An opening reception will be held on First Friday, June 6th 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Beverages from Hop Valley Brewing and wine from Sundance Wine Cellars. Live music featuring Jerry Zybach. Numerous SILENT AUCTIONS of Artwork to be held in June.
