Our mission is to build a network of people and groups to work on economic and community development while maintaining the historic character of the downtown area. Our Four Goals 1) Community Partnership: Network community members, businesses, property owners, local organizations and government to share goals and projects. 2) Enhance Downtown’s Reputation: Maintain, strengthen, and market Historic Downtown Anacortes as our city’s “living room”, reinforcing and enhancing its character and scale. 3) Preservation and Sustainability: Preserve historic buildings, encourage development that fits into the environment, and maintain a mixture of uses and activities for all. 4) Economic Development: Support projects that create a sound economic base, help business, and provide places to live.
