Instagram @lagundancefestival To present world-class dance performance, increase public appreciation for the art, and provide quality dance education.For over a decade Laguna Dance Festival has presented world-class dance in intimate settings such as local art galleries and the Laguna Playhouse.  The Festival generally takes place in September, bringing national and internationally recognized dance companies to perform. Lead by Jodie Gates, Founder and Artistic Director, the Festival has grown  establishing a year-round presence providing free community performances at local art galleries and the Laguna Art Museum during selected First Thursdays Art Walk, Festival of Arts summer series and other activities such as Dance on film. A series of Master Classes taught by renowned teachers and choreographed are offered throughout the year for advanced students aged 12 and older. The week-long summer intensive is a highlight for aspiring dance students. In 2016 Laguna Dance Festival established a scholarship fund to help young artists achieve their goals in a competitive and often costly pursuit. LLlaguna Dance Festival has been the recipient of numerous local awards for its innovative and provocative programming as well as recognized nationally in such papers as the New York Times and Los Angeles Times.
