Building Bridges
Primary Mission: Building Bridges is a community united to impact the futures of our neighbors and friends who are caught trying to survive in the daily struggles of poverty. This Southeast Iowa initiative uses the constructs of “Bridges Out of Poverty,” which breaks poverty down into a simple definition. Bridges helps a community address, create, and make those 11 key resources available to all people in all ways. The Bridges Out of Poverty community support program helps communities: Move individuals from poverty to self-sufficiency Reduce social costs related to crime, poor health, and welfare Strengthen educational attainment and job skills Enhance economic development Improve on-the-job productivity Revitalize neighborhoods Build sustainable communities where everyone c
