THE ORGANIZATION WILL CARRY OUT THESE PURPOSES BY PROVIDING A FORUM FOR MEMBERS TO REVIEW REQUIREMENTS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR PRODUCT COMPATIBILITY, EDUCATING BUSINESS AND CONSUMER COMMUNITIES AS TO THE VALUE OF THE POWER MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGIES, PROTECTING THE NEEDS OF CONSUMERS BY SUPPORTING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF COMPLIANCE TEST PROCEDURES AND PROCESSES, MAINTAINING RELATIONSHIPS WITH EDUCATIONAL AND GOVERNMENTAL INSTITUTIONS THAT SUPPORT AND CONTRIBUTE TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF SPECIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS, AND BY FOSTERING COMPETITION IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES IN CONFORMANCE WITH ANTITRUST LAWS AND REGULATIONS.
