The Box Shop is a communal art and maker space founded by industrial artist Charles Gadeken for Bay area artists in San Francisco. Our focus is metal and industrial arts. The Box Shop is a collaborative workspace focused on metal and industrial arts in Bayview-Hunters Point, San Francisco, with affordable studios for Bay Area artists, makers, and small businesses. Our mission is to support artists, with a focus on underrepresented artists, and the creation of high-quality art through shared access to space, tools, skills, community, and project-based learning.

Help Save The Box Shop The Box Shops future is at risk after serving thousands of local artists and makers for 20 years. The Box Shops lease will end in 2025 with no option to renew. We are working on securing a permanent home so we can continue supporting Bay Area artists and nurturing the creative community we have built.
