Minister & civil rights leader, former confidant of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Mayor of Atlanta, & U.S. Congressman. Established in 2003, the Foundation's major program areas are human and civil rights, global health, economic development and leadership development. The mission of The Andrew Young Foundation is to support and promote education, leadership and human rights in the United States, Africa and the Caribbean.The Andrew J. Young Foundation promotes more just and prosperouscommunities in the U.S. and globally by developing and supporting a new generation ofleadership for a multicultural world. The Foundation supports initiatives locally, nationallyand internationally in four areas that reflect Young's work as a pastor, activist, ambassadorand elected official consisting of Public Service and Advocacy; Civil Rights and CivicParticipation; International Humanitarian Initiatives; and Community Engagement.
