Hey Families First friends, here’s your friendly reminder to prioritize your mental health-whatever that looks like for you. Maybe it’s taking an intentional 20-minute break from work. Maybe it’s using your PTO to plan that much-needed two-week getaway. Or maybe it’s finally starting to research a therapist in your area. Whatever it is, make time for it today. May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and this week we’re shining a light on serious mental illness (SMI) and serious emotional disturbance (SED), supporting those living with these challenges and their families by raising awareness, reducing stigma, and promoting recovery. If you, a family member, or a friend needs support, the Lucy C. Vance Center for Behavioral Health is here to help you take the next step. 📞 404-853-2800 📧 info@familiesfirst.org You’re not alone-and taking care of your mental health matters. (fb)

This year’s Jean Childs Young Community Empowerment Baby Shower was a powerful celebration of care, connection, and community💜 As an initiative of the Jean Childs Young Resilience Fund for Women & Children, this event supports single mothers through critical resources, advocacy, and donations of essentials like diapers, wipes, and baby supplies. A heartfelt thank you to our expert panel — Dr. Heather Hirsch, Dr. LeKeisha D. Jackson, Troya Jackson, and Dr. Diana Wilson — and moderator Andrea Young for leading an impactful discussion on maternal health and resilience. And deep gratitude to our Kaiser Permanente volunteers for their time and care in bringing this vision to life. It’s not too late to honor a mother in your life. Support the Jean Childs Young Resilience Fund this Mother’s Day and help us continue uplifting women and children in our community💐 👉 familiesfirst.org/jcy #FamiliesFirstATL #JeanChildsYoung #CommunityEmpowerment #MothersDay #2GenApproach #AtlantaCommunity (fb)
