The Commission is guided by Dr. King's teachings and philosophy of love, tolerance, and nonviolence. It strives for social improvement in the greater Lansing area, helping communities and organizations achieve new levels of leadership and public service. THE PURPOSE OF THE HOLIDAY COMMISSION IS TO PERPETUATE THE MEMORY OF THE REV. DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. BY SPONSORING YOUTH AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES CULMINATING WITH THE ANNUAL DR.
