For one hour, Asia Stewart becomes the table, inviting guests to dine on her presence, her poise, her power. Inspired by her years navigating upscale hospitality spaces, Stewart turns personal observation into public provocation. The performance pulls from her lived experiences serving affluent men in dim lounges and velvet-rope dining rooms—spaces where dominance is not just spoken, but consumed. Referencing Ben Lerner’s 10:04 and echoing Allen Jones’s infamous Women as Furniture series, Stewart’s work doesn’t ask for your comfort—it demands your complicity.
