United States Armor Association
Cavalry officers established the U.S. Cavalry & Armor Association in 1885 at Fort Leavenworth, KS to educate its leaders in the art of mounted warfare. The U.S. Cavalry & Armor Association The US Cavalry and Armor Association grew out of the United States Cavalry Association, established by a small group of cavalry officers in 1885 at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The Armor Association's charter TO DISSEMINATE KNOWLEDGE OF THE MILITARY AND SCIENCES WITH SPECIAL ATTENTION TO MOBILITY IN GROUND WARFARE. TO PROMOTE THE PROFESSIONAL IMPROVEMENT OF ITS MEMBERS, AND TO PRESERVE AND FOSTER THE SPIRIT, THE TRADITIONS AND THE SOLIDARITY OF ARMOR IN THE ARMY OF THE UNITED STATES.
