Pitiful Paws Rescue Inc
Our organization is a 501c3 non-profit private animal rescue shelter located in Chesapeake, OH. PPR started in 2013 as a foster based rescue but grew quickly, we now have a facility and a full team dedicated to our cause. Our focus is to rescue animals in need and to rehabilitate them, whether physically or mentally, and to help them find families to call their own. We believe that every animal deserves a chance regardless of breed, age, or medical status. We primarily serve WV, OH, and KY and often assist law enforcement and other agencies with large scale hoarding/neglect cases. We assist with disaster relief, evacuation efforts and emergency rescues in extreme heat/cold weather. We frequently pull from rural shelters with no resources and help counties that do not have shelters. We offer a wellness program with free vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and basic care as well when we can.

Pitiful Paws Rescue Inc
On Friday night around 9pm we had a Good Samaritan knock on our Director’s door with a puppy that they had found in the road on our hill. It was in between the really bad storms that we were having that day, the poor little guy was super skinny, absolutely COVERED in ticks, and he had a large cut in his ear. We couldn’t turn him away as they had nowhere to take him/couldn’t keep him even for the night and there were more storms coming soon.
