A free public Montessori charter school serving tK-8th grade students in North County San Diego Coun The mission of Bella Mente Montessori Academy Charter School is to provide students with the opportunity to acquire an education based on an “authentic” curriculum founded on the educational philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori.We intend to promote an educational atmosphere that encourages socioeconomic diversity by providing all students with the opportunity to obtain a quality public education.Our aim is to prepare each of our students with the skills, knowledge, and values to participate meaningfully in the pluralistic world of the 21st century. Bella Mente Montessori Academy is the formation of a new public Charter School based on ideals which its founding board believe are important to the development of a global citizen in the 21st century.Global Citizen- Students educated under the Montessori philosophy are given the tools necessary to thrive in a diverse cultural global society.Cultural Education- Developing the whole child includes providing education in the visual and musical arts, national and world history and foreign languages.Science Education- As recommended by the National Science Teachers Association, students require early and frequent experiences in science to increase problem solving skills later in life.Health and Nutrition Education- Bella Mente understands the importance of developing health conscious habits in early childhood for a lifetime of good health.Sustainability- Children are the next stewards of the planet and must learn the importance of reducing their personal impact on the environment.
