Midwest Books to Prisoners When I go to the juvenile detention centers and prisons I see people who cant read now. And I know that when they leave those prisons and those detention centers theyre not going to be able to make it in our society. Walter Dean Myers WHAT WE DO Since 2004 Midwest Books to Prisoners has been engaged in direct support of incarcerated people and their educational goals by mailing them books magazines and other printed material free of charge. We believe that education is one of the most basic human rights and accept requests from any and all inmates.
