Since 1991, volunteer-driven Shepherd’s Clinic has been an innovator in providing free health care for the uninsured. Located in a neighborhood viewed by the Baltimore City Health Department among the unhealthiest in the city, our mission remains unchanged…to provide quality health care for those who cannot afford commercial insurance, yet do not qualify for government assistance.

Today the clinic operates with thirteen staff members and over 200 physicians nurses counselors and others volunteering to offer services to over 800 patients annually. The types of case management and community relationships which the clinic has pioneered for the uninsured for more than two decades are now considered models of costefficient and effective care. This holistic and integrative approach proves to be effective in best meeting a variety of needs for patients.
