About the organization

- G70 -

Our mission is to improve the lives of people with Disorders of GutBrain Interaction The Rome Foundation is an independent notforprofit organization dedicated to supporting the creation of scientific data and educational information to assist in diagnosing and treating Disorders of GutBrain Interaction DGBIs formerly called Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders FGIDs. For almost three decades the Rome Foundation has sought to legitimize and update our knowledge of the DGBIs. We do this by bringing together scientists and clinicians from around the world to classify and critically appraise the science of gastrointestinal function and dysfunction. This helps clinical scientists to make recommendations for diagnosis and treatment that can be applied in research and clinical practice.
