With Zakyya’s Senior Recital around the corner, we’re doing a #TBT to a special musical moment for graduating Anderson Scholar and clarinetist Zakyya: the day she met her musical hero clarinetist Anthony McGill ! Zakyya has been inspired by Anthony McGill for years and finally had the opportunity to meet him when she attended a Philadelphia Chamber Music Society concert featuring Anthony McGill, flutist Demarre McGill, oboist Titus Underwood, and bassoonist Bryan Young last month. Zakyya looks up to Anthony not only for his incredible artistry, but also for his representation and activism in the classical music world!
