🚂👏 Taking orientation and mobility training to the next level, Miami Lighthouse Academy 2nd grader Isaac took the train to school this morning with the guidance of Mike, Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI). We are proud to offer an education that goes beyond hands-on, and into real life. Let's give a round of applause to Isaac for his bravery in experiencing the process of taking public transportation. Miami Lighthouse Academy enrolls children who are visually impaired for grades 1 through 4, as well as preschool for ages 1 through 4 years old. Our free VPK (ages 1-4) enrolls children who are sighted as well! Multiple artworks by Artists from our Miami Lighthouse Senior Group Activities (SGA) Program were accepted into and received top billing among 200 finalists in the International Minneapolis Disabilities Art Exhibition, The Art of Possibilities! 🤩 A colorful mixed media painting collaboration by our Miami Lighthouse SGA artists, a patriotic macrame artwork by Victor Brown, and a detailed wood carving by Victor Mercado, are all on exhibition until June 21st.
