The Order of AHEPA is a nonprofit organization focused on promoting Hellenic ideals and supporting the Greek American community. Founded in 1922 in Atlanta, Georgia, it has over 400 chapters throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, making it the largest and oldest grassroots association of American citizens of Greek heritage and Philhellenes.
History and Mission

Programs and Activities
AHEPA engages in various programs, including:
- Education: The AHEPA National Educational Foundation provides college scholarships to numerous students and supports Hellenic or Classical Studies programs at universities.
- Athletics: AHEPA recognizes and supports Greek American athletes through awards and scholarships.
- Public Health and Housing: The organization provides programming related to these areas.
- Public Policy: AHEPA advances policies relevant to its interests and promotes awareness of Hellenic issues.
Subordinate Organizations
AHEPA has several subordinate organizations, including:
- Sons of Pericles: A youth organization focused on Hellenism and community service.
- Daughters of Penelope: A women’s auxiliary organization dedicated to philanthropy and cultural activities.
- Maids of Athena: A junior women’s auxiliary group focusing on community service and Hellenic culture.
AHEPA Foundation
The AHEPA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) entity that accepts tax-deductible donations for charitable projects, humanitarian relief efforts, and national initiatives. It plays a crucial role in supporting AHEPA's philanthropic goals.
Events and Community Engagement
AHEPA hosts various events, including national banquets and conventions, to engage its members and promote Hellenic ideals. It also participates in advocacy efforts to raise awareness about issues affecting the Greek American community.
