Malibu Film Society Corporation
MFS is an all-volunteer non-profit dedicated to fostering a stronger sense of community through the cultural touchstone of film. We produce 60+ free and paid-admission screenings per year. Many of these films are shown before they’re officially released to movie theaters. Roughly a third of our events feature audience Q&A conversations with the producers, directors, actors, writers, and others involved in making these films. While these panel discussions are always entertaining, they also serve an educational function by exposing the audience to insider information on all aspects of the filmmaking process. Following September 2017's shutdown of Malibu's only movie theater, MFS now provides Malibu’s only opportunity for area residents to watch movies on the big screen.
