UPDATE MORE BEAR RELEASES! The first one in the video is our own “Hunter Mountain” bear. The little guy was found on the slopes of Hunter Mt. in March. After only 60 days he packed on the pounds & he was he ready to go home. The next bear in the video is Margaretville bear! She was spotted late last year as it was getting cold. After two weeks of being seen running around looking for food in Margaretville, she was finally captured by Michael our long time volunteer. These two bears were extremely unweight when found & we are thrilled to say they made a great recovery. Let Wild Be Wild! (fb)

The orphaned pumpkin thief from last fall (second bear in the reel), along with 3 other bears who wintered over with us were released last week! Now yearlings, they had all come to us throughout the fall severely underweight. We worked with DEC biologists to safely guide these bear into transport cages then they hitched a ride with DEC and off to freedom they went. These bear were not happy to see or be wrangled by humans, exactly what we strive for. We have 6 more yearlings to release soon as well as caring for 5 orphaned cubs who will be transfered to an outdoor enclosure soon! Stay tuned for more updates -LET WILD BE WILD (fb)
