The Ed Ladder - We are dedicated to empowering students - San Diego CA
MISSIONThe Ed Ladder will educate and support those underserved learners who desire to “step-up" their capabilities to build a solid foundation for greater academic and personal success. VISIONAs concerned members of the educational community, The Ed Ladder is committed to fulfilling the need for a wider range of consistent academic and mentoring support for underserved K-adult learners in the County of San Diego, California (e.g., underperformers, second language learners, immigrant students, pregnant minors, at-risk / foster / homeless youth, students with special needs, non-graduates missing credits, students requiring preparation for the rigors of college or career, and parents / guardians / caregivers). The Ed Ladder serves:• students who are unable to access extended instructional support because either they do not meet the criteria of existing programs or the programs do not exist • at-risk / foster / homeless youth, including those who transfer out of a district's jurisdiction, who can no longer receive services• students in SES and Title I programs who lose the opportunity to continue their instruction beyond the life of the programs' funding or due to finite time allocations• immigrant students who are placed in grade levels inconsistent with their previous educational experience• learners with special needs who are deemed “not needy enough", who lack robust advocacy, or whose Individual Education Plans (IEP's) / 504's are lean or inconsistent• parents / guardians / caregivers who are not equipped with the tools to support their students' academic success and/or to promote setting career goals.
