Ambassadors of Hope and Opportunity - Serving Homeless Youth
AHO is a 501 (c) (3) organization designed for youth, by youth, for the future of youth who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness. Ambassadors of Hope and Opportunity started as a calling of the heart. A calling that compelled the Ambassadors of Hope and Opportunity (AHO) mission is to provide a hand-up and safety net of stable housing, guidance, and community connections so that all young adults ages 16 to 25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Marin County receive the support they need to achieve their personal goals, a sense of well-being, stability, and economic self-sufficiency to launch a fulfilling, meaningful, and productive life. Our goal is to assist youth in moving beyond a life in the system with an infrastructure-light and benefit-heavy framework.
AHO is a cost-effective, relationship-based community engagement model that has proven successful since its inception in 2005. It engages young adults to become part of the solution as outreach advisors, mentors, board members, and spokespersons.
