Vandalia Health Mon includes the following, + several affiliates – Vandalia Health Mon Medical Center; Vandalia Health Preston Memorial Hospital; Vandalia Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital; & Vandalia Health Mon Marion Neighborhood Hospital. The mission of Preston Memorial Foundation, which was founded in 1994, is to raise funds for Preston Memorial Hospital, a critical access hospital, thereby enhancing the quality of health care in a rural, low-income area. Preston Memorial Hospital is the only hospital located in the county. The nearest medical center is forty-five minutes away, accessed by winding, narrow roads that are treacherous on which to drive in winter weather. Snow can occur anytime between September and May.
