𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁! SELF recently brought solar-powered public lighting and essential energy services to this vibrant community in northern Uganda. These upgrades are transforming lives—boosting local livelihoods while advancing the fight against climate change with clean, renewable power. ✨ Support projects like these: https://secure.qgiv.com/for/donatetoself #solarpower #sustainabledevelopment #uganda #cleanenergy #sdg7 #electrification (fb)

🚨 Special letter from SELF’s Executive Director 🚨 Friends, In 2018, SELF partnered with @rapehurtsfoundation to tackle a dangerous reality in rural Uganda: women and girls walking miles each day just to collect water—often at great personal risk. In Uganda, one in four women has experienced sexual assault, and these remote treks witness many of them. A year later, with your support, we installed our first solar-powered water station in the heart of Bukyerimba (pictured). It changed everything. Clean water now flows to more than 2,000 people. Women and girls are safer, their treks a thing of the past. Families are healthier. Time once spent walking long distances is now reclaimed for school, work, and life. And because the system is powered entirely by the sun, it’s doing all of this without harming the planet. But the other half of the village still lives without this access. That’s why we launched Phase 2—a second solar-powered water station on the opposite side of Bukyerimba. We’ve already: ✅ Assessed local need ✅ Completed the hydrogeological study to ensure the site is viable ✅ Developed the system design Now, we just need your help to bring it to life. Your gift will: ⭐ Provide access to clean, reliable water for hundreds of families ⭐ Improve safety for women and girls ⭐ Fight climate change with clean, renewable energy We’re close—but we can’t cross the finish line without you. Will you chip in to bring this station to life? Donate with the link in bio or at: https://secure.qgiv.com/for/ugandawater/ In solidarity, Robert A.
