Safe Haven provides a safe place for youth in our community to experience healing, hope, and horses. Our vision is to develop youth who have life skills, a sense of belonging and connectedness to the world and others, an understanding of a higher purpose, and ability to love themselves and others. Long-term this will result in adults who are healthy, self-sufficient, connected individuals, contributing to make our community and our world a better place. For our target population, individuals exposed to trauma, this will end the cycle of addiction, abuse, and overall lack of health. We will see these changes evident in our Northern Bluegrass region, which currently houses well over three hundred 12-18 year olds in foster care alone. We aim to serve these and other individuals to the best of our ability on a weekly basis in order to be a source of support for their families. If not us then who?? If not now, then when??
