Welcome to the Polka Club of Iowa If you like dancing watching others dance or even just listening to the sounds of old time and modern dance music you owe it to yourself to become a member. Current members are glad to teach dance steps and dancers of all skills are invited to attend dances located at ballrooms across the state of Iowa. About the Polka Club of Iowa The Polka Club of Iowa was started in 1975 as an educational and social organization for the preservation and advancement of old time music when accordionist Duane Pichelman organized a group of dancers who shared his love of AustrianGermanstyle happy music. The first meeting was held in the Duane Pichelman home near Ankeny Iowa on April 18 1975.
