Distinct from the national AAUP American Association of University Professors its campus chapters and its statewide North Carolina AAUP Conference the NCAAUP Foundation Inc. is a nonprofit public charitable educational foundation managed by a Board of Directors. The NCAAUP Foundation is organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational objectives and for the public purpose of preservation and advancement of academic freedom supporting the goals and principles of the national American Association of University Professors and fostering higher education and academic research in North Carolina.
