Join us for this special 250th Anniversary event on May 24, 2025. Witness Royal Governor Josiah Martin send his wife and family off to safety from the angry crowds protesting against royal governmental leaders. He soon followed, fleeing in the evening hours. He was the last of the royal governors to occupy Tryon Palace. On this day, you will see and hear the jeering crowd and watch as the Martins leave the Palace to escape them. The Fife & Drum will perform throughout the day. The normal Palace Tour will convert to a "Caswell's Capital" tour for the day. Join us for the first of our 250th Anniversary events! (fb)
