HealthCore Clinic provides coordinated, team-based care in medical, dental, behavioral, and pharmacy The CHW is a unique partnership between area businesses, the primarily African-American northeast Wichita community, local hospitals and universities, the religious community, and city/county government. The goal of the Center is to build a family health care facility to improve access to primary health services and focus on prevention and wellness education for this traditionally under-served population. The CHW represents a paradigm shift in healthcare for Wichita's African-American community. Instead of relying on emergency room care or low-income clinics that focus on treatment of an often progressed illness, the Center focuses on prevention and wellness education, decreasing high-risk behaviors.
